Description
A rabbit helps strip an underworld deity of his regalia; different painted vessels show related humiliation scenes. The small trickster defeats a powerful god through ridicule and cunning.
Evidence of adoption or transmission
Related Maya rabbit–God L episodes recur on different painted vessels.
What remains uncertain
These are elite courtly vessels. Princeton identifies its vase's owner as a lord and its use with court feasting. Multiple elite vessels establish iconographic transmission, not ordinary-class adoption.
